Hastelloy X Forgings
(AMS 5754, ASTM-B-572, UNS N06002)
Hastelloy X (UNS N06002) is a high temperature and corrosion resistant nickel-based solid solution strengthened alloy that exhibits good formability, machinability, and weldability. Alloy X can be forged between 2225 (1215°C) and 1550F (840°C). Exhibiting good ductility after prolonged exposure to temperatures as high as 1600F (870°C) for 16,000 hours, Hastelloy X can be easily fabricated. Also, because of this good ductility, Alloy X is also readily formed by cold working.
Hastelloy X Forging Applications
Since Hastelloy X is resistant to oxidation and extremely resistant to stress and corrosion cracking in petro-chemical applications, Alloy X is used for various applications within the aerospace and chemical industries. Applications within these industries include but aren’t limited to:
- Combustor cans
- Transition ducts
- Cabin heaters
- Retorts
- Furnace baffles
